Baby alpaca is an exceptionally soft, lightweight, and naturally hypoallergenic fiber that comprises the majority of our knitwear collection. Alpaca fiber is free of lanolin, making it a great choice for people with wool sensitivities.
"Baby alpaca" does not refer to the animal's age but to the quality of the fiber, which comes from the animal's neck, chest, and back - the finest sections of the fleece. Naturally thermoregulatory, the hollow core of the alpaca fiber provides excellent insulation, making it warmer than sheep's wool.
