Each sweater takes the Dear Friend team in Nepal 5 days to produce. Many "handmade" sweaters are actually made on a knitting machine — one guided by a person's hands, but a machine all the same, capable of turning out rows in a fraction of the time it takes a knitter working alone. Ours are hand knit in the truest sense: every stitch is formed one at a time on knitting needles, by hand, with no machine and no electricity anywhere in the process. It's slower and takes more care, and that's why each piece has a warmth and character no machine can replicate. Thoughtfully designed in Austin and ethically hand knit in Kathmandu. One size fits most 100% hand knit cotton 100% low impact azo free dyes. 

The women of our incredible partner collective in Nepal hand knit each sweater with cotton, then color that with gentle dyes, and finally add the finishing touches to each piece. This hand knit cotton just gets softer & comfier with wear.

Each piece will be slightly different & unique due to the special nature of the handmade process.
